An Italian call center that takes booking requests for your guesthouse.
For agriturismi and guesthouses that get booking calls in Italian. Chiara, the AI agent, quotes the dates and prices your system returns and saves a request the owner confirms. Visitors who need English get it.

Answer booking calls in Italian, and in English for visitors
The agent speaks Italian from the greeting to the request, and switches to English when the caller does.
The agent asks for the dates and the number of guests, and says only what your availability system returns.
The agent reads the price only from the tool, so it never invents a rate or a discount.
The agent saves the dates, the guests, a name and a number. It says the owner confirms, and never says the room is booked.
Foreign guests can ask for English whenever they like. With language detection on, the agent switches with them and keeps the dates and the party size.
Italian on the phone, by place
Callers to an Italian business are Italian and international. Italian privacy law and the EU rules both apply to the call.
European Union
Chiara collects names and phone numbers, and GDPR article 13 lists what a guest is told when that happens. The AI Act's article 50, applicable from August 2, 2026, is about letting people know an AI is on the line. Her greeting does that with 'un'assistente IA'.
Italy
The Codice in materia di protezione dei dati personali applies the GDPR in Italy, and the Garante enforces it. A recorded voice is personal data, so give the notice when the call starts and name who keeps the recording.
Voices
An agriturismo's calls are full of dates, nightly rates and room names: 'dal 1° al 3 giugno', '130 euro a notte', 'la camera doppia'. Put yours in full sentences in a test call, and have a fluent speaker check how the agent says them.
Read these as pointers, not legal advice. Ask counsel or your privacy adviser to confirm the recording and data notice for your agriturismo.

Italian call center FAQs
What is an AI Italian call center?
It is your booking line answered in Italian by an AI agent, with no call center staff behind it. This one handles a guesthouse: it checks the dates you have free and saves a booking request for the owner. Owners and managers configure it for their own phone number.
How much does an AI Italian call center cost?
$0.03/min, plus telephony and LLM usage, charged in US dollars rather than euros. See pricing.
Can it switch between Italian and English?
Italian and English are two of the 10 languages that language detection can move between. It's a Beta toggle in the agent's speech settings, and it puts the agent on a different speech recognition model. Try it with a few foreign guests before summer.
Can I try English on the sample line?
Not on this one. It answers in Italian and stays in one language for the call. Moving into English is what language detection (Beta) does, on a different speech model, so set it up on your own agent to hear it.
Does it confirm bookings?
Only if you connect it to a system that confirms them. In this setup it saves a request and says the owner confirms, so a guest is never told a room is booked when it is not.
How is this different from an outsourced Italian call center?
An outsourced team puts Italian-speaking people on your line and charges for their time, so its price follows hours and headcount. Chiara is billed per minute of conversation, at $0.03/min plus telephony and LLM usage. She checks dates, reads prices from your system and saves requests. Weddings, events, groups, complaints and every final confirmation still need the owner. A human team could confirm bookings if you gave it your calendar; this setup never does.
Does it connect to my booking system?
Each tool is a webhook to your channel manager or booking calendar, connected once by someone who can code. Cartesia has no ready-made connector for Italian booking software.
Does it speak formal Italian?
It uses Lei if you write that in the instructions. Check the register with a fluent speaker before you publish.
